The New Zealand Government has launched a draft Government Policy Statement (GPS) for Land Transport, which outlines transport policies and planned spending over a 10-year horizon. The GPS is criticised as being the most ideological and unbalanced transport policy the country has seen, with concerns it will lead to worse safety outcomes, more congestion, higher emissions, and increased transport costs for New Zealanders.
